The ELEKTRYXX Photo Comics series emerged from creating an avenue to present photography with a theme. The comic books are a sidecar to a future exhibit cataloging an entertaining and dynamic aspect of abstract photography, stories, poetry and metaphors drawing multiple ideas together.

Afraid of Me? photography spans over a period of 18 months on various locations, from Nashville to Beirut to Tokyo. The context of each story is enriched with the location, environment and time of day. The main story, Afraid of Me?, reflects the torment of leaving one's own home and the pain the place feels after abandonment.

    Photoshoots for the comics were done in several cities during '22-'24. While the majority of the photography was done outdoors in Nashville, some sessions took place wherever our photographer travelled as the project carried on and was influenced by other cultures.

  • Photographer

    Photo Comics photography is mainly shot on 35 mm near infrared B&W film by Zaki Daouk. Zaki uses the technique of double exposure to create a storyboard narrative that is part of the script. Follow Zaki on Instagram and Flickr to see samples from the photoshoots of this project and beyond.
